Treatment of MSW through separation by pressure extrusion, bio-digestion and thermochemical conversion, obtaining:
  • Production of biogas from wet fraction (bio-digestion high-load system; internationally patented)
  • Production of electric and thermal energy and organic amendments
  • Thermochemical conversion of the energetic dry fraction with syn-gas production


  • Our technology for the MSW, as such or separated, retrieves those materials effectively reusable from waste and extracts the energy they contain, as efficiently as possible.
  • Prior to our technology, the organic fraction was an un-solved issue.
  • The organic fraction does still contain a large amount of energy and raw materials that can be advantageously recovered using efficient systems and technologies, like ours.
  • The organic fraction, coming from photosynthetic fixation, is a renewable resource of great relevance. It becomes however the component that contributes the most to greenhouse gas emissions, if disposed in landfill.


  • The heart of the system is an extraordinary pressure extrusion process, carried out by our press
  • The process of pressure extrusion segregates an organic fraction (Organic Material Gel; GMO, from Italian “Gel di Materia Organica”) and a dry fraction.
  • Ferrous metals, aluminium and inert are easily recovered from the dry fraction and used in different industrial processes.
  • Organic Material gel is treated with our patented anaerobic bio-digestion system, which produces an output consisting of biogas and land fertilizer.

The (pressure) extrusion process consists in squeezing the waste material induced by a high-pressure machine; it separates each other the two components, the organic from the dry one, without making a shredding that would contaminate irremediably the organic matter.
The machine is available in various types and sizes that make them fit for purpose for the processing facility in any specific local requirement; it is reliable and thus requires little maintenance. The power consumption is extremely low, less than 12 kWh per tonne of MSW juice (which means less than 6% of the total producible energy).

  • Low power consumption: for the (pressure) extrusion is equals to 12 kwh/ton.
  • Quality: the Organic Matter gel owns excellent homogeneity which ensures an efficient bio-digestion within digesters under calm and continuous flow conditions; as a consequence, lower electrical and thermal consumption is required compared both to batch digesters or those with internal agitators currently in use.
  • Improved energy efficiency also compared to the systems characterized by dilution in water of the waste material for bio-digestion. These latter systems have high energy consumption and lead to the production of a diluted effluent which is difficult to treat and use.
  • Output: from the anaerobic digestion, dry and high efficient, is obtained a well-stabilized humus, dried to 10-20% moisture, ready to use for the remediation of contaminated soils, and that could easily be composted and used as organic fertilizer.
